Common Questions

You Ask. We Answer.

Looking for more information about the work we do? Below is a collection of the questions we’re asked most often, conveniently listed to help you learn more about our mission and how you can get involved. If there’s anything we haven’t covered, please don’t hesitate to reach out—we’re here to help.

What Is the Minimum Age to Volunteer?

We welcome individuals of all ages to support our cause. Youth volunteers play a vital role in fundraising activities and outreach efforts, and many bring personal experiences of family members or friends affected by Alzheimer’s disease.

What matters most to us is a genuine connection to our mission and a passion for making a difference. Whether you are young or young at heart, there’s a place for you in our Family of Friends.

Is Your Organization Transparent?

Absolutely. We are fully transparent about our mission, our processes, and how we allocate resources. We are always available to discuss our cause with anyone who is interested in learning more about how we operate.

We also welcome collaborations with other organizations. If you’re interested in partnering or exploring how our services can complement each other, we encourage you to reach out.

How Much of My Donation Directly Supports the Cause?

100% of all net contributed revenue goes directly toward fulfilling our mission. Every dollar you give helps provide financial assistance to families caring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s, ensuring they receive the support and relief they desperately need.

How Are Applicants Selected?

At the Alzheimer’s Family of Friends Foundation, applicants are carefully considered based on financial need, available resources, and the level of care required. Each applicant must submit a written statement from their physician confirming their diagnosis and the level of care needed.

Based on available funding, we determine the level of support we can offer at the time of application. If we are unable to provide immediate financial support, applicants may be placed on our waiting list until additional assistance becomes available.

Here’s how the application process works:

Apply Online

Start by completing a short online application and answering a few simple questions on our website. We’ve made the process easy to navigate so we can quickly review requests and begin providing financial assistance where it’s needed most.

Personal Interview

Once your application is received and meets our initial guidelines, we will schedule a personal interview to learn more about your situation and specific needs. This conversation can take place by phone, online, or in person. Afterward, our team reviews all details and determines whether immediate support can be provided or if the applicant will be placed on our waiting list.

Application Awarded

If financial assistance is awarded, we coordinate with the caregivers or service providers who will deliver care. If no provider has been selected yet, we will assist in finding one. Any financial support is paid directly to the service provider on a monthly basis to ensure consistent care for the recipient.
